Terms of Service

Effective 1 May 2026 · BusRoute

End User Licence Agreement

By tapping "I Accept" in the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use this app.

1. Licence

BusRoute grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use BusRoute solely for recording and navigating school bus routes on behalf of the licensed operator named in the app.

2. Tool — not a pilot

BusRoute is a guidance assistance tool only. It provides information based on previously recorded observations and does not replace the professional judgment of a licensed bus driver.

The driver remains solely and fully responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle at all times, including compliance with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.

Do not follow any guidance that would require unsafe driving, illegal manoeuvres, or violation of posted traffic controls.

3. Data accuracy disclaimer

Route data is derived from observations recorded by human drivers and averaged across multiple runs. It may contain errors or out-of-date information due to road changes, construction, or seasonal conditions.

BusRoute makes no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular use. Route guidance must be verified against actual road conditions before and during each run.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BusRoute shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of or reliance on this app, including personal injury, property damage, or traffic violations.

5. Driver acknowledgment

By using this app you confirm that:

6. Privacy

No personally identifiable student information is collected or stored. Student counts are anonymous aggregate numbers only. See our full Privacy Policy.

7. How we handle updates to these terms

When the terms of service change in a way that affects your rights or the data the app collects, we do not simply present the full legal text again and ask you to scroll to the bottom. Instead, the app shows a plain-language summary of specifically what changed — and only that summary must be read before you can continue using the app. The full terms remain accessible for anyone who wants to read them, but we do not treat re-reading unchanged text as meaningful consent.

This means that when you accept an updated version of these terms in the app, you have genuinely been shown what is new, in plain language, as a condition of that acceptance.

The version of the terms you most recently accepted is recorded on your device.

8. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
