When a school bus driver calls in sick, the route needs to be covered by a substitute. BusRoute is a tool with which the regular driver can record the route over a few runs. After the runs some editing and route info addition results in a complete set that is available to hand to whoever drives that day.
No more unsafe use of paper maps and route copies.
GPS stop detection runs automatically. No interaction or phone viewing required while recording routes. After a few runs, the app averages stop positions and arrival times into a reliable profile. The regular driver adds student numbers, guided dropoffs and route segment info.
The driver generates a QR code and an export file and sends it to the branch office or directly to the substitute.
The app announces each stop approaching, expected student count, special notes, and turn-by-turn directions by voice. Distance to the next turn and street names are also shown on screen. The driver can stay focused on the road.
Everything runs on-device. No accounts, no cloud use, and no student data ever leaves the phone. Route data needs a refresh after 105 days. No internet or phone coverage needed while recording or driving routes.
Requiring a substitute driver to navigate an unknown route with papers and maps in hand creates legal risk for the employer. BusRoute addresses this directly: the driver is guided, not distracted. CIPO Registered, Reg. No. 1245935.
